Today I met with my long time friend Dietrich who was in Berlin for the weekend to celebrate his birthday last saturday. We wanted to chill out from the extensive party (hey – no alcohol for me 😉 ) by walking around some nice place outside the city. His mom – where he stayed during his Berlin visit – suggested to walk around Gorinsee. I found this very appealing because this lake is right between my and her place. Ofcourse my friend asked her to join us.
So we met under the wonderful late November sunset at the lake and started to surround it. First everything looked really pleasing: sun, clouds, decent temperature. But from one minute to the other it got really cold. We decided to return and warm up over some coffee in a lakeside restaurant. Just after taking seats in the wintergarden of the venue we saw the first snow flakes falling on the ground. Then snowfall got heavier. When we left the restaurant after about 50 mins everthing already was under a solid snow cover. On the way my to car another inch was added. Finally I drove home on empty highways over the fresh snow and was happy to have arrived safely since my winter wheels are in the storage. So I know what my next task will be.
